The
future of motocross looks extremely promising. The Five Star
Series will be at the Reynard Raceway this weekend. This will
be the first ever race for the new track owner and what a way to
start, with a Big race. This may be the first big race for the
track but rest assured there will be many, many, more to come.
Who knows what can happen when the influence of one of the very best
Motocross Racers ever takes control of one of the great facilities
like the old Sooner State Cycle Park and it just may surprise many
what could be in Oklahoma's future.
1998
World Supercross Champion
Robbie Reynard was
indeed one of the very best MX Racers, right in there with McGrath,
Carmichael, and many others. Injuries were what hindered
Robbie, certainly not a lack of talent. For those who ask what
did Robbie Reynard really accomplish? I say he made it to the
top and rode as well as his competition, make no doubt about it.
Winning the Championship requires tremendous talent but also a lot
of other factors, including luck. Injuries do not mean one
couldn't do it, they mean one didn't get to do it. He had
nothing to prove, he did that by getting there. Now this
Winner is bringing his abilities to the world of MX Racing in
Oklahoma!
Does being a great racer make a great
promoter? No. Will Robbie run a great race program?
Time will tell that story but he has proven he is a winner in life.
He has a lot of influence in important circles which may help bring
bigger and better things in the future. I think he will indeed
become a very important part of the future of motocross in Oklahoma.
Starting as a part of the 5 Star
Series in conjunction with Moto-City is a big plus. The owner
of Moto-City, Roger Tate, is a real promoter, not simply a track
operator. He is doing so much right in the promotion
department that the 5 Star Series was a success since the first year
of the series. Be there, be a part of history.
